Itinerary

Day 1 A Warm Greek Welcome

You’ve arrived in the Mediterranean paradise that is Greece! Make your way to our centrally located accommodation in Athens for your first stop on what will be an unforgettable trip. Athens is not only the current capital city but was also at the heart of Ancient Greece, a powerful civilization and empire. The city is still dominated by ancient landmarks, including the Acropolis and the Parthenon. Get settled in your hotel and then it’s time to kick things off! You’ll meet your trip leader for a welcome session and then it's time to mingle with your fellow adventurers. We’ll head off to a local restaurant for a traditional Greek meal to kick off your Greek adventure!

Day 2 Step back in time with ancient ruins

We’re up early this morning to beat both the crowds and the heat. We start with a tour of what is arguably the most famous landmark in Greece, the Acropolis. This ancient citadel sits proud 150m above sea level in the middle of Athens city. As you wander through this ancient monument, you can’t help but be transported back in time. We then continue on with a walk through central Athens, the birthplace of democracy, arts, science and philosophy of western civilisation. Marvel at the coexistence of great culture with astonishing natural beauty with the modern city and developments. The afternoon is then yours to continue to explore the city or enjoy a siesta back at the hotel.

Day 3 Arrive in Paros paradise

It’s another early start this morning but you’ll likely be awake anyway you’ll be so excited to head out to the islands! We catch the local metro to the ferry terminal and board the ferry to our next destination of Paros. The island of  Paros is a picturesque island known for its white-washed buildings, crystal-clear waters, unique beaches, and vibrant nightlife. After arriving at Paros, your guide will show you around the island, before you will have the afternoon to yourself. Walk down to the beach, enjoy a swim at the pool, continue exploring the town or take things up a notch and head to one of Paros’ epic beach clubs to get the party started.

Day 4 Swimming & snorkeling through the Aegean

After a sleep in and refuelling with breakfast, today is what dreams are made of, exploring the small laid-back island of Antiparos. Kick back and relax aboard a sailing boat, and spend a lazy day at sea. There will be many swimming stops at the transparent waters and you will get the chance to snorkel at places like Blue Lagoon, Despotiko and Faneromeni. This full day adventure includes swim stops, snorkelling and lunch on board. Have the evening to chill out after your big day on the water.

Day 5 Beaches, villages, history & more

Today the day is yours to choose your own adventure; Paros has something for everyone from the history buffs to the party animals. You can visit the buzzing town of Naoussa, the second largest town and the centre of nightlife, with fine restaurants and luxury hotels. Or eat your way across the island with seafront restaurants and cosy taverns hidden along the paved alleyways. For those wanting to learn more about Paros, there are a range of museums and archaeological sites to explore. The more adventurous can take a lesson and learn a new watersport like windsurfing or kitesurfing. Or you could go one of the most popular options; setting up for the day at one of the pumping beach clubs on the islands.

Day 6 Learn to cook authentic Greek

In the morning take a short ferry to Naxos, the largest of the Cyclades islands, renowned for its stunning beaches, ancient ruins, and charming mountain villages. After arrival you will check into your accommodation, and explore the island on foot as a group. In the evening we’ll go inland and explore a local village before having a hands-on cooking class and dinner at a local home. Learn the secrets of traditional Greek cooking, founded on the triad of wheat, olive oil, and wine. We’ll use staples like vegetables, olive oil, grains, fish, and meat to make and eat a delicious meal.

Day 7 Sightseeing, sunshine and sunsets

Explore Naxos at your leisure today with a full day to do whatever you like, relax, explore or simply go to the beach. Naxos is a big island, resulting in an extended coastline and sooo many great beaches to choose from. Alternatively, you could choose to visit some ancient sites with castles, temples, churches and monasteries all on Naxos. The active crew can go for a hike up the 1004-metre high Mount Zeus, the highest point of the Cyclades, considered as Zeus’ birthplace by ancient Greeks. We recommend coming back together in the evening and watching the sunset at the Temple of Apollo.

Day 8 Postcard perfect villages

You get the morning to yourself to keep exploring Naxos and then we’re off on our final ferry to what may be the most famous of the Greek Islands, Santorini. Once we arrive, we’ll explore its capital, Fira town. Here you’ll find a vision of pristine whitewashed buildings built into dramatic, rugged cliffs that slope into the sea. Visiting the shops and cafes along narrow footpaths, and taking in the truly amazing views, is a leisurely way to spend an afternoon.

Day 9 Charming windmills and wine tasting

Today we have a half day private tour of Santorini. Its wild volcanic landscape, rugged cliffs, wild nature, and beautiful shores, combined with its rich history and traditions, make the island the gem of Greece. You'll get to see whitewashed towns, beaches, cliffside views of the Aegean, charming windmills and more. Plus you’ll get to taste the volcanic wines of Santorini at a local wine tasting.

Day 10 Farewell Greece

There’s time for one last breakfast at the hotel before your group goes its separate ways. It’s been one hell of a trip, that’s for sure. You’ll leave Greece with new friends, incredible memories and a desire to continue to see more of the world. Maybe it’s not a farewell at all, but a ‘see you later’!

“Greece is ancient sun-bleached ruins piercing blue skies, the balmy Aegean lapping an endless coastline and a culture alive with passionate music, wonderful cuisine and thrill-seeking activities.”
